Call for Papers: Integrated Carbon Neutral Energy Systems
Integrated Carbon Neutral Energy Systems special Issue supports and amplifies research related to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
Deadline: 30.09.2026
Integrated Carbon Neutral Energy Systems special Issue supports and amplifies research related to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
Achieving carbon neutrality requires an energy transition from isolated technology solutions to deeply integrated, cross-sector energy systems in which electricity, heat, fuels, storage, and demand-side resources operate in a coordinated framework. High shares of renewables, sector coupling, hydrogen systems, large-scale storage, and digital optimization are fundamentally reshaping modern energy architectures. At the same time, new challenges arise in flexibility provision, infrastructure planning, resilience, and market design.
This Collection aims to bring together cutting-edge research on system-level design, modeling, optimization, and governance of integrated carbon-neutral energy systems, bridging engineering, economic, environmental, and policy perspectives:
